I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
Our mission is to equip Christians for Kingdom service through Kingdom service
Our focus is to be the working Church – Monday through Saturday...and to be at rest on Sunday, praising and honoring the LORD
Our process is project-based evangelism and discipleship through mentoring and teamwork.
The vision of The Greenhouse Ministry is to equip students (all disciples are students) to reach our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through interactive public programs in cooperation with local churches. In a learn-by-doing environment, students will work together with mentors and a faith community to learn practical evangelism, apologetics, and discipleship in a public setting. Learn by doing.
Go make (win) disciples is the command given to every Christian everywhere. The continual action of this Great Commission is baptizing and teaching. This action should be active all week long.
In a world of brokenness and hopelessness, Jesus heals and provides identity, value, and purpose. The Greenhouse Ministry is people, engaged in the work that God has given us. Nurture. Nourish. Replant.
What? - The Greenhouse Ministry is a place of healing, growth, and encouragement. We do that by trying to get the spiritual soil right, with constant warmth and compassion. Our focus is nurturing and nourishing people with the Gospel by living authentic Christian lives and teaching the Word. Our goal is to re-plant people, churches, and ministers that produce fruit in-season and out-of-season.
Biblical Basis - Blessed is the man who trust in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit. (Jeremiah 17: 7-8 ESV) See also: Psalm 1
Nurture - We nurture through love, acceptance, encouragement, and discipline (both instructional and corrective). We seek to develop fertile spiritual soil through repentance, devotion to God, and earnestly seeking the Lord. God's lovingkindness, longsuffering, and mercy set the tone of our fellowship - for we have been forgiven of much. We want to be like Jesus.
Nourish - We promise to teach the entire Bible through preaching, interactive instruction, and demonstration in lives well lived for Christ. We hope to practice the Shema (Hear O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets to your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9 ESV)), not in ritual, but in everyday lifestyle.
Replant - Finally, it is our intention to re-plant regularly. In the greenhouse, growing plants can quickly become rootbound. Replanting is require to allow the plants to bear much fruit. We are striving to be a church-planting ministry. We hope to develop the spiritual gifts of those we interact with, and deploy them in ministry - both inside and outside of bible-believing churches. By God's grace, we intend to raise up a spiritual army of believers to push back the darkness, and we are convinced that this is not accomplished through idleness. We must be a people of action.
